Everyone likes a bit of adventure. It’s why we always head for the biggest rollercoaster whenever we are in a theme park. We watch scary movies because they frighten us. We love the feeling because although something terrible might be happening, everyone knows they are safe inside their own home. Some people take this to the extreme. They end up doing crazy sports in which you get a massive thrill from doing something that takes your breathe away. If you’re like most other people you will have one particular sport you do more than others. Maybe that’s the only thing close by.
In New Zealand they have the ultimate challenge for adventure sport enthusiasts. You can go there for a vacation and try almost anything imaginable. You can do them all. The whole country is geared towards anything that could make your heart stop. I guess they got lucky when they were handing out countries. You should go to New Zealand and live out your dreams. What can you do exactly? Well let’s look at some of the most exciting things you will find.
Fly like a bird
It takes guts to jump out of an airplane knowing the only think saving you from smashing into the ground is a little parachute tucked neatly into your backpack. Would you even risk it? Well in New Zealand you can find many places that offer to take you thousands of feet into the air and throw you out. The views are magnificent. Just make sure you take a change of underwear.
Crash down the river
White water rapids don’t come much more exciting than here. It’s a real adrenaline rush floating down the river at great speeds as the waves crash around you. It’s not for the faint hearted. One slip and you could find yourself outside the boat and getting smashed against the rocks. Join up with a team and make this even more special as you tackle the great rapids together. It needs to be on your list of things to do.
Rolling down a hill
Have you ever heard of zorbing? It’s pretty neat. You go up to the top of a very steep hill and climb inside a big inflatable sphere. It looks like a huge clear bubble. Then someone pushes you off and you roll down the hill gathering speed until your brain is banging about inside your skull. What makes this so exciting is that you are on your own and you think you might die. What could be more fun than that? Not much. It’s the closest you’ll get to what an astronaut feels like during training.
Speed down a mountain
And then you can wrap up in really warm clothes and hit the slopes. New Zealand also has nice snow covered mountains and some great ski resorts. It’s great fun flying down a mountain covered in snow, especially if you don’t know how to stop. If skiing doesn’t take your fancy you can always opt for snowboarding. As long as you’re zooming down a mountain it doesn’t really matter what’s on your feet. As long as you’re going as fast as possible it’s great.
