Ladakh

Ladakh, the land of high pass, is home to the surreal beauty of nature. Blessed with the serenity of the Ladakh Range, the cascading Zanskar River, and the unbeaten Umlingla Pass, Ladakh has become an ultimate travel destination for every wandering soul. Residing at 11,000 feet above sea level, this union territory of India is a living paradise on Earth.

Travelling to Ladakh might be a fascination, but stepping out of your comfort zone requires courage. The untamed path, the deserted mountain, and the cold terrain are nothing less than a challenge that could change your perspective. It is not just the adventure that defines the journey to Ladakh. Everything has beauty, be it the river flowing through the roads or the pious air breezing through the mountain ranges. Devotees flock from around the world to visit the Buddhist monasteries- Hemis Monastery, Diskit Monastery, Gurdwara Patthar Sahib, and Shanti Stupa.

Spending a holiday in Ladakh is an eclectic mix of experiences. You can go camping under the stars in Nubra Valley, witness the magical colours of Pangong Lake, and ride up the highest motorable pass, Khardung La. The diversity of nature is the true miracle one can witness. Besides housing the majestic Zanskar and Karakoram ranges, Ladakh also has some tranquil lakes- Tso Moriri, Tso Kar, and Pangong Tso. Leh

Leh, the pristine city in India, is a perfect stopover for the Leh-Ladakh trip. Being a remote region, the beauty of Leh is untouched and sublime. Comparing Leh and Ladakh, these two are entirely diverse destinations. Where Ladakh is more about rugged terrains, Leh is a quaint city with markets where tourists can buy handicrafts, Tibetan handlooms, and other souvenirs.

Exploring Leh will take you to a different world filled with the charisma of nature. You can enjoy Tibetan food and visit Leh Palace, which preserves the heritage of King Sengge Namgyal. The city has every facility available for tourists, from hospitals to hotels, restaurants, car rental offices, and other services required while travelling. Monasteries further enhance the aura, adding a spiritual vibe. There are around 20 monasteries preserving the culture and Buddhist heritage, such as Buddhist Thangka paintings and sculptures.

Being a gateway to Ladakh, Leh is a place to rejuvenate and acclimatize for your onward journey.

Nubra Valley

Located 150 km from Leh, Nubra Valley is a dreamland blessed with the untouched beauty of nature. Nubra Valley was known as the Ldumra, which translates to a valley of flowers because of its rare floral wilderness. The valley has a rich diversity of wild and medicinal flowers that are rare to find. Talking about rare wildlife, Nubra also houses Bactrian camels, orchards, and Seabuckthorn Wild Rose.

The valley overlooks the mighty Himalayas, which appear magical as the moonlight falls on the snow-capped peaks. The topography is quite dramatic, with fields of barley and fruits blooming in the summers. Winters here are white and cold, letting you experience the deserted beauty. As you explore the uncovered trails, you will find monasteries dominating the inhabited villages and the hot water springs in Panamik village, offering a therapeutic experience after a long journey.

Pangong Lake

Have you seen a lake with different colours? If not, Pangong Lake is the place where you can witness this unique phenomenon. Located at a height of 4,350, the lake covers an area of 160 km, with one-third of the area lying in India. Due to refraction at high altitudes, the lake changes its colour from blue to green and red in a day. Being one of the highest saltwater lakes in the world, it has become a significant point of attraction for people on Leh and Ladakh trips. While the beauty of Pangong has lured humans to witness the magic of its existence, many migratory birds also flock to the region during the season. For birdwatchers, this is the time to soothe their sight and capture the incredible beauty of gulls, bar-headed geese, and Brahminy ducks.

Camping is one thing you cannot miss here. The sky and galaxies filling the sky are nothing less than a fantasy world you have dreamt of.

Kargil

This place holds an emotional and political value to India. Sitting at 2676 meters above the sea, Kargil is the second largest region in Ladakh. The place where the Kargil War was fought in 1999. The results were heart wrenching, but today, Kargil stands as a peaceful site for tourists who come to pay homage to the martyrs. The extreme weather makes livelihood difficult for the locals and the Indian army Soldiers on duty. The land reminds us of the sacrifices our soldiers make every day to keep the country safe.

Many movies depict the history of Kargil, but the beauty of this region in Ladakh is way more than that. Exploring Kargil will let you witness the massive mountain ranges, the crystal clear rivers, the warming culture, and the vivid landscape. The war memorial, monasteries, marketplaces, and everything else adds an experience to the Kargil tour.

Tso Moriri

The mountain lake, or Tso Moririr, is a serene lake nestled at an altitude of 4522 meters above sea level. The blue colour of the lake and the pristine surroundings make it look unreal and mesmerizing.

Twenty-nine kilometres in length and 8 kilometres in width, the lake is a niche for many migratory birds and exotic wilds like marmots, blue sheep, Ladakhi bharal, and Tibetan wolves. Tsomoriri is also known as Tsomoriri Wetland Conservation Reserve, which protects the rare flora and fauna dwelling in the region. Camping here is prohibited, and one can only explore the area after getting an Inner Line Permit.

Enclosed within the beauty of snow-laden mountains, Tso Moriri Lake falls below the freezing zone during winters, making survival hard. Thus, it is advised to explore the enchanting beauty of the lake during summer.

Terms & Conditions

The standard check-in time is noon, and check-out is 10:00 a.m. An early check-in or late check depends on availability and is totally at the discretion of the hotel.

A room can allot a maximum of 3 adults. A mattress shall be provided for the third occupant.

The itinerary, once fixed, cannot be changed. Transportation will be according to the itinerary and will not be available for other purposes. For any paid activity that is not operational due to an unforeseeable reason, a refund will be issued, which will be credited within 30 days of processing.

Complimentary tours and activities for which the guest is not charged, are non-refundable under any circumstance.

No AC will be provided in cold or hilly areas.

No Entrance fee, Parking, and Guide charges are included in the packages.

If you have connecting flights via different airlines, you may need to get your luggage at the connecting hub and register it again when checking in for the next leg to your destination.

Booking rates are subject to change without prior notice.

Airline seats and hotel rooms are subject to availability at the time of booking.

Booking prices are based on the age of the passengers. Enter the correct age of passengers at the time of booking, as any incorrect age details may result in a penalty at the time of travel.

If the listed hotel is unavailable during the traveling dates, an alternate hotel/ camp will be provided of a similar standard.

If your package must be canceled due to any avoidable reason, Tripify.com will make every effort to provide you with the maximum refund return possible. This is subject to the terms of the agreement we have with our vendors.

TRIPIFY.COM reserves the right to change the itinerary at any time for any reason, including but not limited to: Force Majeure events, strikes, fairs, festivals, weather conditions, traffic problems, overbooking of hotels/flights, flight cancellation / re-routing, closures/entry restrictions at a place of visit, and so on. While we will try to make the best alternate arrangements, we are not liable for any refunds or compensation claims resulting from this.

Some hotels might ask for a security deposit during check-in. The hotel will refund the amount subject to their policy.

Any personal expenses such as laundry, telephone calls, room service, alcoholic beverages, mini bar charges, tips, portage, camera fees, etc, are not included in the booking amount.

Any items not mentioned under Inclusions are excluded from the booking cost.

Any special dinners or mandatory costs charged by the hotels, particularly during New Year's and Christmas, or on other special events are not included in the package. Most hotels in Ladakh offer room heaters upon request and direct payment.

Entrance fees for monuments and monasteries must be paid directly on the tour unless included in the holiday package.

Tented camps with basic washrooms will be provided in Nubra Valley and Pangong.

You need to get a postpaid network as prepaid connections do not work in Ladakh.

It is mandatory to get an Inner Line Permit to travel to Nubra Valley and Pangong.

It is mandatory for all Indian tourists to carry valid photo IDs issued by any govt. institution, for the inner line permits. Children accompanying their parents must carry birth certificates. Non-submission of the required documents will result in a denial of entrance into the restricted areas of Ladakh.

All tours and adventure activities are subject to weather conditions.

WiFi is only available at a few hotels in Leh and Nubra. No WiFi facility is available at Pangong and other places like Tso Moriri or Kargil.

Most hotels in Leh do not have escalators or lifts on the premises.

IMPORTANT:

According to reports, it is mandatory for tourists or anyone arriving in Leh to undergo 48 hours of acclimatization before beginning their journey in the cold desert region. This move issued by the Leh (Ladakh) administration is in response to preventing acute high-altitude sickness among tourists. All tourist attractions and airports in Leh Ladakh are open to all visitors.

Plan your vacation in Leh with extra caution, keeping at least 48 hours for acclimatizing in Leh before continuing your journey.

WHO CAN TRAVEL TO LEH:

People over the age of 65, those with co-morbidities, pregnant women, and children under the age of ten (vulnerable groups) should travel only under unavoidable circumstances.

IMPORTANT: Please note that the nationals/citizens of CHINA / TAIWAN / AFGHANISTAN / BANGLADESH / PAKISTAN / SRI LANKA / MYANMAR (BURMA) are not allowed to visit restricted areas in the Ladakh region. Hence these packages do not apply to these nationals

MUST KNOW:

Citizens of the nations listed below must get protected area permits from the Ministry of Home Affairs / Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi. The District Magistrate / Additional District Magistrate will not issue the Protected Area Permit without prior clearance from the mentioned Ministries.

They are required to get a Protected Area Permit / Inner Line permit from the Ministry of Home Affairs/Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi.
