Itinerary

Day 1 - Jaipur Arrival

Upon arrival in Jaipur, you will be transferred to your hotel where you can relax or unwind. Jaipur is quite mesmerizing and feels something straight from a fairytale as it is entirely built using Pink sandstone. It was through the efforts of the Great warrior astronomer Maharaja Jai Singh II that Jaipur's name, foundation, and planning came into being in the year 1727. Immerse yourself in the city's rich history, where its distinctive layout, a fusion of Shilpa Shastra, Mughal, and Jain architectural elements, still stands as the sole representation of the nine divisions of the Universe within nine rectangular sectors, while the enduring pink hue, a tribute to Prince Albert's visit in 1853, remains largely unaltered, with the only noticeable difference being the bustling traffic of bicycles, cars, and buses.

Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2 - Jaipur Sightseeing

After savoring a delicious morning meal at the hotel, embark on a full-day Jaipur City sightseeing tour that begins at visiting the Amer Fort -the former capital, nestled at a distance of 11 kilometers from Jaipur. The amalgamation of red sandstone and white marble is used for the construction of the fort, the charm is further heightened by the serene Maota Lake in the foreground. This historic fort was once the stronghold of the Kachhwaha clan of Amber and served as the capital until Jaipur's establishment. As you gaze upon the fort, its reflection mirrored perfectly in the tranquil waters of the lake, you can't help but question whether it's a magnificent dream or an enchanting illusion.

For an unforgettable ascent to the fortress, you have the option to ride an elephant (subject to availability) or opt for a jeep ride. Once at the summit, you'll meander through the expansive complex, featuring courtyards and halls, accompanied by a knowledgeable and eloquent guide who will regale you with captivating tales from the past. Your journey continues with a visit to the heart of Jaipur, the City Palace. This sprawling complex boasts exquisite palaces, lush gardens, ornate courtyards, intricate decorative art, and elaborately carved doorways. Within the palace museum, you'll discover collections of rare manuscripts, armor, costumes, carpets, and miniature paintings.

Adjacent to the City Palace lies the Jantar Mantar, an Astronomical Observatory constructed by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh in 1726. It is one of the five such astronomical marvels built by him and continues to provide accurate predictions even in the present day. As the day unfolds, you'll find that Jaipur is a veritable shopper's paradise. The majority of bazaars are nestled within the old city, offering a wide array of treasures to acquire, from exquisite jewelry adorned with precious and semi-precious stones to finely craft silver pieces, textiles, handicrafts, and antiques. Undoubtedly, Jaipur is a haven for avid shoppers, making it the ultimate destination to indulge in retail therapy and gather cherished mementos.

At the end of this exciting day, return to your hotel for a well-deserved overnight stay, filled with memories of Jaipur's rich history and vibrant culture.

Day 3 - Drive from Jaipur to Agra | 250 km (06 HOURS)

On the third day of your journey, you'll depart from Jaipur after a hearty breakfast to begin your road trip to Agra, covering a distance of 250 kilometers, which is expected to take approximately 6 hours. Along the way, you'll make a captivating stop at Fatehpur Sikri. This historic city, constructed from striking red sandstone, was commissioned by the esteemed Mughal Emperor Akbar in the late 16th century, serving as both his capital and palace. Fatehpur Sikri was, however, abandoned shortly after its completion due to the local wells running dry, and it stands today in much the same state as it did over three centuries ago.

This remarkable city boasts a complete cluster of palaces and mosques, and during its prime, it rivaled the size of London. Exploring its well-preserved buildings offers a glimpse into its glorious past, and it remains an extraordinary place to wander, with its structures nearly as impeccable as when they were first erected.

Following your exploration of Fatehpur Sikri, your journey continues as you drive onward to Agra. Upon reaching Agra, you'll be transferred to your hotel. Agra gained prominence during the reign of Afghan King Sikandar Lodhi, who made it the capital of his empire. However, it was in 1526 A.D. that the Mughal Emperor Babar undertook the task of giving Agra its unique character and beauty. Agra's ambiance is still steeped in its Mughal history. The Mughals, renowned as both great rulers and builders, preserved some of their most splendid architectural wonders in Agra and its surroundings. The city boasts an array of magnificent monuments, with the Taj Mahal, the pinnacle of Mughal architecture, standing as its crowning jewel.

As the day comes to a close, you'll retire to your hotel in Agra, ready to embark on further adventures in this historically rich city.

Day 4 - Drive from Agra to Delhi |220 km (05 hours)

On the fourth day of your journey, following a satisfying breakfast, start a half-day city tour of Agra. Your first stop is the world-renowned Taj Mahal, a monument that lives up to all the praise and more. Built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the mid-17th century as an enduring symbol of his love for his wife Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal is undeniably one of the world's most astonishing wonders. While the Taj's exterior impresses from every angle, it is the intricate marble inlay work up close that truly leaves one in awe.

Continuing your exploration, you'll visit the Agra Fort, an exceptional example of Mughal architecture. The Agra Fort served as the seat and stronghold of the Mughal Empire across successive generations, making it an integral part of Mughal history. Shahjahan contributed the impressive quarters and mosque within the fort's walls, while Aurangzeb added the outer ramparts. During your visit, you'll have the opportunity to explore the Hall of Public Audience and the Royal Pavilions within the fort. Additionally, Agra's markets offer a glimpse into the city's rich heritage of handicrafts, making it a delightful shopping destination.

Following your tour of Agra, you'll embark on a drive to Delhi, covering a distance of approximately 220 kilometers, which is expected to take around 5 hours. Upon arriving in Delhi, you'll be transferred to your hotel. As India's capital and a major gateway to the country, contemporary Delhi is a bustling metropolis that skillfully blends the ancient with the modern. Amidst the soaring skyscrapers, the city's numerous monuments serve as silent reminders of its rich historical legacy. As you journey from the airport to your hotel, you'll be greeted by the sight of a spacious, garden city adorned with lush parks, providing a tranquil contrast to the hustle and bustle of urban life.

Rest well at your hotel in Delhi, ready to explore more of this vibrant and diverse city on the following day.

Day 5 - Delhi Sightseeing

On the fifth day of your journey in Delhi, your day begins with a hearty breakfast, followed by an immersive tour of both Old and New Delhi. In Old Delhi, the historic heart of the city and the former Mughal capital known as Shahjahanabad, your first stop is the magnificent Jama Masjid. Commissioned by the illustrious Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, renowned for constructing the Taj Mahal, and completed in 1656 AD, this grand mosque is India's largest and most famous. It stands at the beginning of the bustling central street of Old Delhi, the Chawri Bazar Road. The Jama Masjid, also known as the "mosque of Friday," spans an impressive 80 meters in length and 27 meters in width, with a courtyard that can accommodate 25,000 worshippers across 408 square feet.

Next, you'll visit Raj Ghat, the sacred memorial where Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, was cremated. Your tour continues with a drive past the iconic Red Fort, the palace constructed by Shah Jahan as part of his new capital, Shahjahanabad, the seventh Muslim city built at the site of Delhi. You'll then explore the bustling streets of Chandni Chowk, affectionately called "The Silver Street," and have the opportunity to enjoy a 'Cycle Rickshaw' ride through the vibrant lanes of Old Delhi (available for an additional fee).

In the afternoon, your journey takes you to New Delhi, a testament to the British colonial legacy. The division between Old and New Delhi also reflects the divide between the capitals of the British and the Mughals, as well as differences in lifestyle. While Old Delhi preserves tradition and offers a glimpse into a bygone era with its rich history, New Delhi aspires to meet the standards of the 21st century.

Your tour of Imperial Delhi commences with a visit to the Qutab Minar, India's tallest stone tower. Construction began in 1199 AD under Qutab-ud-Din Aibak and was completed by his successor and son-in-law, Iltutmish. This impressive tower stands at a height of 72.5 meters and features 379 steps from the bottom to the top. The Minar tapers from a base diameter of 14.3 meters to 2.7 meters at the top floor, making it India's tallest stone tower and one of the country's most remarkable Islamic structures.

You'll also explore Humayun's Tomb, a remarkable Indo-Persian monument built by the widow of the second Mughal Emperor, Humayun, which serves as a precursor to the Taj Mahal. Your drive will take you past prominent landmarks, including India Gate, the Parliament Building, and the Rashtrapati Bhawan, the President's residence.

Conclude your eventful day with an overnight stay at your hotel in Delhi, as you continue to soak in the rich history and vibrant culture of this dynamic city.

Day 6 - Homebound

On the sixth and final day of your journey, you will be transferred to the Delhi Airport or Railway Station promptly to catch your flight or train for the next leg of your journey to your chosen destination.
