Itinerary

Day 1 - ARRIVAL AT JAIPUR

As the trip begins, you will be transferred to your hotel in Jaipur. Known as the "Pink City," Jaipur earned its nickname due to the extensive use of pink sandstone in constructing the buildings within its ancient walled city. The credit for the city's foundation and meticulous planning goes to the renowned warrior and astronomer Maharaja Jai Singh II (1699-1744 AD). Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II established Jaipur, often referred to as the "City of Victory," in the year 1727. This city stands out as the sole one in the world representing the nine divisions of the Universe through nine rectangular sectors, an architectural concept derived from the Shilpa Shastra, an ancient Hindu treatise on architecture. This concept was masterfully blended with the elegance of Mughal and Jain influences from that era. In 1853, the city was painted pink as a gesture of hospitality for the visit by Prince Albert. Aside from the bustling traffic of bicycles, cars, and buses, Jaipur has preserved much of its timeless charm.

Enjoy your overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2 - Exploring Jaipur

Following breakfast, embark on a captivating full-day exploration of Jaipur. Begin your journey with a visit to Amer Fort, situated just 11 kilometers from Jaipur. This fort, formerly the stronghold of the Kachhwaha clan of Amber, served as the capital before the city of Jaipur was established. Amer Fort, a stunning architectural marvel, boasts a mesmerizing blend of white marble and red sandstone. Its allure is further heightened by the picturesque Maota Lake that graces its foreground. Gaze upon this magnificent fort and its mirror-like reflection on the tranquil lake, and you'll find yourself pondering whether it's a dream or a captivating illusion. If you prefer a more leisurely ascent, you can opt for an elephant ride (subject to availability, alternatively by jeep) to spare you the effort of climbing to the fortress's summit. Once atop the fort, wander through its expansive complex of courtyards and halls, accompanied by a knowledgeable guide who will regale you with tales of its storied history.

Next, explore the vibrant city of Jaipur, where you'll encounter a myriad of attractions. Notable among them is the City Palace, an awe-inspiring ensemble of palaces, manicured gardens, ornate courtyards, intricate decorative art, and intricately carved doorways. Within the palace museum, you'll discover an impressive array of rare manuscripts, suits of armor, traditional costumes, exquisite carpets, and miniature paintings.

Make your way to the adjacent Jantar Mantar, the renowned Astronomical Observatory Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh constructed in 1726. This architectural wonder, one of five such observatories built by the Maharaja, continues to provide accurate astronomical predictions to this day.

Jaipur also beckons shoppers with its wealth of marketplaces, many of which are in the old city. Here, you can indulge in a diverse shopping experience, from exquisite jewelry featuring precious and semi-precious stones, handcrafted silver, textiles, and handicrafts, to antiques. For avid shoppers, "Jaipur" is undeniably a haven for collecting cherished mementos.

Enjoy your evening in Jaipur, and retire for the night at your hotel.

Day 3 - JAIPUR TO JODHPUR VIA AJMER AND PUSHKAR - A SCENIC JOURNEY OF 400 KM / 09 HRS

Commencing the day with a hearty breakfast, we embark on a picturesque road journey from Jaipur to Jodhpur, with enchanting stops in Ajmer and Pushkar along the way.

Ajmer, founded in the 11th century by Chauhan ruler Ajaipal, beckons with its rich historical heritage. Dominated by the majestic Taragarh Fort, this city holds significant importance for Muslim pilgrims, particularly during the month of Ramzan, owing to its revered Dargah of Sufi saint Khwaja Moin-ud-din Chishti. It is believed that seven pilgrimages to Ajmer are equivalent to one to Mecca. While exploring Ajmer, you'll encounter superb examples of early Muslim architecture and a vibrant bazaar. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the sacred Dargah of Khwaja Moin-ud-din Chishti and admire the tranquil Ana Sagar Lake.

Please note that in Ajmer, the vehicle will drop guests off approximately 2 kilometers from the Dargah, and guests can avail of auto rickshaws on direct payment for the remaining distance.

Continuing our journey, we drive to Pushkar, a town nestled around one of India's holiest lakes. With 52 ghats encircling the lake and numerous temples dotting its shores, Pushkar exudes an aura of spirituality. The Brahma Temple, dedicated to Lord Brahma, attracts pilgrims throughout the year. Besides its religious significance, Pushkar is renowned for its annual Cattle and Camel Fair held in the month of Kartik, drawing thousands of visitors. You can also participate in the evening prayer ceremonies at the temples. Being a religious town, alcohol and non-vegetarian food are not typically consumed in Pushkar. Separated from Ajmer by the Nag Pahar (Snake Mountain), Pushkar is a traveler-friendly town that clings to the side of the small Pushkar Lake, adorned with bathing ghats and temples.

For Hindus, Pushkar is an essential pilgrimage center, and you'll encounter numerous Sadhus (spiritual seekers) during your visit. The town boasts various temples, with the Brahma Temple being the most famous, known as one of the few temples in the world dedicated to Lord Brahma.

After exploring Pushkar's spiritual treasures, we continue our journey to Jodhpur, fondly known as the Blue City. Upon arrival in this desert oasis, we transfer you to your hotel. Jodhpur, the second largest city in Rajasthan, is a vibrant destination that seamlessly blends history and modernity. With its imposing forts, opulent palaces, ornate temples, and a tapestry of colors, Jodhpur entices travelers from around the globe. The city, set against the majestic Thar Desert, promises a journey rich in culture, tradition, spices, fabrics, and an immersion into the bygone era. The warm hospitality of the locals, the elegance of the women, and the vivid turbans against the backdrop of the beloved Marwar Desert are experiences to be felt, not merely witnessed. Jodhpur's every nook and cranny whispers stories of valor, romance, and the timeless epics that once played out on its streets.

Relish a restful overnight stay at your hotel as you prepare for more enchanting adventures in Jodhpur.

Day 4 - JODHPUR TO UDAIPUR VIA A SIGHTSEEING EXCURSION - EMBARKING ON A 300-KM / 7-HOUR JOURNEY

Following a delightful breakfast, we commence our exploration of Jodhpur through a captivating city tour. Our first stop takes us to the majestic Mehrangarh Fort, perched on a low sandstone hill. Within its walls, you'll discover intricately decorated palace apartments such as Sukh Mahal, Phool Mahal, and Sheesh Mahal, each showcasing exquisite craftsmanship. These palatial chambers house a treasure trove of historical artifacts, including jewelry, costumes, weaponry, palanquins, howdahs, and other remnants of a glorious past.

Next, we visit the Jaswant Thada, a remarkable marble memorial erected in 1899 in honor of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. The site also serves as the royal crematorium and features three additional cenotaphs. As we continue our tour, we venture into the bustling Sardar Bazaar and Clock Tower markets. Here, you can immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere, exploring stalls offering vegetables, spices, Indian sweets, textiles, and silverware. These lively markets, nestled in narrow lanes adorned with woodcarvings, wrought iron, lacquer work, silver and ivory ornaments, and leather handicrafts, provide a colorful snapshot of local life.

Later, we set out on a picturesque drive to Udaipur. As we arrive in Udaipur, we transfer you to your hotel. Udaipur, often referred to as the "City of Lakes," presents a stark contrast to the arid deserts of Rajasthan. This charming city, founded by Maharana Udai Singh in 1559, served as the capital of the old Mewar State. It stands as a testimony to the enduring Hindu allegiance in the face of Muslim invasions. Udaipur's allure lies in its fairy-tale setting, characterized by marble palaces, serene lakes, and encircling hills. The magnificent City Palace dominates the cityscape, offering panoramic views of Lake Pichola, adorned with romantic island palaces. Along the lakefront, picturesque havelis, ghats, and temples stand in contrast to the lively bazaars of the ancient walled city, which extend behind them.

Prepare for a restful overnight stay at your hotel, as you anticipate more enchanting experiences in the captivating city of Udaipur.

Day 5 - EXPLORE UDAIPUR'S SPLENDOR

Following a delectable breakfast, embark on a captivating half-day exploration of Udaipur. Your journey unfolds with a visit to the magnificent City Palace and Museum. Spanning an expansive complex, it stands as the largest palace complex in India, blending the artistic influences of both Mughal and Rajput architecture. Marvel at its grandeur and immerse yourself in the rich history it holds.

Continuing our tour, we proceed to the 17th-century Jagdish Temple, a splendid architectural marvel dedicated to Lord Vishnu. We then take a scenic drive around the serene Fatehsagar Lake, absorbing the tranquil ambiance it offers. Our next destination is the Sahelion ki Bari, a meticulously designed ornamental pleasure garden adorned with charming fountains and elegant marble kiosks.

Our journey through Udaipur's cultural riches leads us to the Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandir, also known as the Folk-Art Museum. Here, you'll encounter a vibrant showcase of Rajasthan's rich folk art and cultural heritage, providing insights into the region's traditions and artistic expressions.

In the evening, you have the option to embark on a captivating boat ride on Lake Pichola (available on direct payment). This picturesque lake stretches over 4 kilometers in length and 3 kilometers in width, framed by rolling hills, magnificent palaces, historical havelis, ghats, embankments, and temples. As you glide along its tranquil waters, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the city's skyline. Take the chance to visit Jag Mandir Island, home to the exquisite Gul Mahal Pavilion, offering a serene escape on the shimmering lake.

Return to your hotel and enjoy a restful overnight stay, reflecting on the day's enriching experiences in the charming city of Udaipur.
