Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Guwahati - Journey to Shillong (Approximately 110 km in 3 hours)

Upon your arrival at Guwahati airport or railway station, you will be transferred to Shillong. En route, you will be visiting the beautiful Umiam Lake. Shillong, the first capital of Meghalaya, is nestled in pine-covered hills, offering a milder climate than tropical India. This city, often referred to as the "Scotland of the East," sits at an elevation of 1496 meters above sea level and boasts a population of around 270,000. Shillong is renowned for its waterfalls, and you'll still find traces of British influence in its architecture and cuisine.

Relax and unwind at a lodging in Shillong.

Day 2 - Shillong - Dawki and Mawlynnong - Shillong (Approximately 90 km, 3 hours each way)

After relishing a hearty breakfast, embark on a day trip from Shillong to Dawki, located at the Indo-Bangladesh border, and Mawlynnong Village. Start your morning with a visit to Dawki, where you can explore the Indo-Bangladesh border and enjoy a country boat ride on the Umngot River (available for a fee).

Next, head to Mawlynnong Village, often referred to as "God's own garden." This village, located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, was declared the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. It's situated about 90 kilometers from Shillong and is known for its community-based eco-tourism efforts. The village's cleanliness is a result of collective efforts by its inhabitants. Mawlynnong offers breathtaking natural beauty, and you can take a trek to the Living Root Bridge in a neighboring village called Riwai. The village also features a natural balancing rock, a fascinating phenomenon where one boulder rests atop another.

In the evening, return to Shillong for an overnight stay.

Day 3 - Shillong - Cherrapunjee - Shillong (Approximately 60 km, 2 hours each way)

After breakfast, set out for Cherrapunjee, one of the wettest places on Earth and the only location in India to receive rainfall year-round. Cherrapunjee is situated about 50 kilometers southwest of Shillong in the East Khasi Hills and offers stunning views of the plains of Bangladesh. Your visit will include stops at Arwah Cave, Nahkhalikai Falls, Mwasmai Cave, Seven Sister Falls, Dainthlen Waterfalls, Eco Park, Wei Sawdong Waterfalls, and a visit to Elephant Falls en route. enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we will drive to Tezpur. Often considered a practical stopover for travelers on their way to Arunachal Pradesh or Upper Assam, Tezpur surprises with its charm. The town is adorned with well-maintained parks, attractive lakes, and breathtaking views of the mighty Brahmaputra River, which gently caresses the town's edge.

Return to Shillong in the evening for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 4 - Shillong - Tezpur (Approximately 250 km, 5.5 hours)

Following a delicious breakfast, drive to Tezpur. Tezpur, more than just a utilitarian stopover, is a charming town with well-maintained parks, attractive lakes, and picturesque views of the Brahmaputra River.

You'll spend the night in Tezpur.

Day 5 - Tezpur - Dirang (Approximately 200 km, 7 hours)

Drive to Dirang after having a scrumptious morning meal. Dirang is a Tibetan-Monpa stone village known for its picturesque stone houses. The village is nestled beneath a steep rocky hill with Old Dirang Gompa and several walls perched atop it.

You'll stay in Dirang overnight.

Day 6 - Dirang - Tawang (Approximately 150 km, 5 hours)

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then drive to Tawang. Along the way, you'll pass the snow-covered Sella Pass at 14,000 feet and the Jaswant Garh War Memorial. Tawang, situated at an altitude of 3,500 meters, is known for its natural beauty, Gudpi and Chong-Chugmi ranges, Tawangchu River, and Tawang Valley. Most of the population in the district belongs to the Monpa tribe, except for Shyo village, which people of Tibetan origin predominantly inhabit.

You'll spend the night in Tawang.

Day 7 - Tawang Exploration

Start your day with a visit to the 400-year-old (17th century) Tawang Monastery, the second-largest monastery in the world after the Potala Palace in Tibet. The monastery is approximately 113 feet long and 80 feet wide, housing valuable antiquities, handwritten and printed books, and manuscripts.

Next, explore the Tawang War Memorial, a 40-foot-high memorial constructed in the stupa design. Dedicated to the martyrs of the Sino-Indo War in 1962, this memorial overlooks the Tawang-Chu valley and is surrounded by beautiful peaks. The remainder of the day is free for you to wander the streets of the town.

You'll stay overnight in Tawang.

Day 8 - Tawang - Bomdila (Approximately 180 km, 6 hours)

After breakfast, drive to Bomdila. Bomdila serves as the headquarters of the West Kameng district and is located at an altitude of 8,500 feet. The town offers a pleasant climate, apple orchards, stunning views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks, and Buddhist Gompas.

Explore the town in the afternoon and spend the night at your hotel.

Day 9 - Bomdila - Kaziranga (Approximately 220 km, 5-6 hours)

After breakfast, drive from Bomdila to Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for the Great Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros. The park's landscape features forests, tall elephant grass, rugged reeds, marshes, and shallow pools. Kaziranga is also home to a substantial population of tigers and large breeding populations of elephants, wild water buffalo, and swamp deer.

Spend the night in Kaziranga.

Day 10 - Kaziranga Exploration

In the early morning, enjoy an elephant ride in the park, followed by breakfast at your hotel. After breakfast, visit the Kaziranga Orchid & Biodiversity Park, and then take a jeep safari in the central range of the park.

Day 11 - Kaziranga - Guwahati (Approximately 230 km, 4 hours)

Begin your day with a morning meal and then drive off to Guwahati from Kaziranga, the gateway to Northeast India. The city is situated on the banks of the Brahmaputra River and has several interesting temples to explore, along with a mix of old colonial-era mansions and modern structures.

You'll spend the night in Guwahati.

Day 12 - Homebound Journey | Departure from Guwahati

After breakfast, visit the Kamakhya Temple, dedicated to the goddess Kamakhya, an incarnation of Sati. Later, you will be transferred to the airport or railway station for your onward journey.

Permit Formalities:

To visit Arunachal Pradesh, Indian national requires Inner Line Permits. Permits are issued Online only, which takes 2-3 working days.

Documents required: Scanned copies of passport size photographs, One Photo ID address proof (Voter ID, Driving License, Aadhar Card, Passport and for children school ID is acceptable)

If We Change or Cancel Your Holiday

We do plan the arrangements in advance. It is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your travel arrangements. Occasionally, we may have to make changes and we reserve the right to do so at any time. If there are any changes, we will advise you of them at the earliest possible date. We also reserve the right in any circumstances to cancel your travel arrangements by assigning reasons to you.

If we are unable to provide the booked travel arrangements due to reasons beyond our control (for instance, bad weather): - we shall first try to offer you alternative dates for the tour if the tour hasn't already commenced. - If the tour has already commenced, then we shall refund the booking price/fee charged from you on a pro-rata basis depending on portion of the tour standing utilized by you. - In all circumstances, however, our liability shall be limited refunding to you the price we charged as the tour fees.

Change Your Holiday Plan

After confirmation of services, if you wish to change your travel arrangements in any way, for example your chosen departure date or accommodation, we will do our utmost to make these changes, but it may not always be possible. Any request for changes to be made must be in writing from the person who made the booking. All cost incurred due to amendment will be borne by yourself.

If You Have a Complaint

If you have a problem during your holiday, PLEASE INFORM THE RELEVANT SUPPLIER, (e.g. your hotelier, transporter etc.) and/or our representative IMMEDIATELY who will endeavor to put things right. If your complaint is not resolved locally, please follow this up within 28 days of your return home by writing to us, giving your booking reference and all other relevant information. However, please be advised that while we are happy to assist you in the redressal of your complaint, if any, we will be able to extend only our best efforts in managing/coordinating your complaint with the respective service provider. All third-party service providers are independent contractors who at no time are under our control or supervision.

Our Liability to You

We accept responsibility for ensuring that your travel arrangements, which you book with us, are supplied as represented and promised to you. If any parts of your travel arrangements are not provided as promised, due to the fault of our employees, agents, we will pay you appropriate compensation if this has affected the enjoyment of your travel arrangements. Our liability in all cases shall be limited to the costs of your travel arrangements.

We do not accept any responsibility for any third-party services or service providers, like hotels, transport etc. For example, travel delays are the responsibility of the transporters and inefficient hospitality is the responsibility of the hotels.

We are only your tour operator and at no time do we act as managers for your respective responsibilities and personal obligations. We are therefore not responsible for your acts, misdemeanor, omissions, and neither are we responsible for managing any of your personal affairs; for example, we are not responsible for ensuring the safety of your personal belongings, travel documents, etc. at any time before the commencement of the tour or after it or during the tour.

For instance, photographs of the interiors of the hotel rooms posted on our website have been sourced from the respective Hotel management, the visual appeal of a room selected by you cannot and is not guaranteed by us. Similarly, while we assure you of enjoyable holidays, we cannot and do not guarantee or represent that such tour will be as per your mental perception, imagination or thought about such tours.

In case there is any change in price the same will be communicated to yourself and only after your confirmation, we will proceed further. There will be no reduction for un-utilized services.

Surcharges may be applicable over and above the holiday price for the requested period. The same will be advised at the time of booking or prior to confirmations.

You need to make an advance payment at the time of confirming the tour and make the balance payment 35 days prior to the departure of the tour.

Forfeiture Of Deposits

We shall be within our rights to forfeit the non- refundable interest free deposit paid by you. In the event you cancel the booking, or on failure on your part to adhere to the tour payment schedule as informed in the documentation Check List, or in the event the visa of any country is not granted or you are unable to travel on the tour booked due to any reason whatsoever, including medical ground or sickness, the non-refundable interest free deposits shall stand forfeited, and the scale of cancellation set out in the How To Book section of the brochure shall be applicable and binding.
