Day 1 - Guwahati arrival and transfer to Shillong (110 Kms 03 Hours approximately)

Upon your arrival at Guwahati airport or railway station, we will commence our journey to Shillong, with an en-route visit to the picturesque Umium Lake.

Shillong, nestled amidst undulating pine-covered hills, holds the distinction of being the first capital of the State of Meghalaya. Located at an elevation of 1496 meters above sea level, this city enjoys a milder climate compared to tropical India. With a current population of approximately 270,000, Shillong is renowned for its numerous waterfalls and is often referred to as the "Scotland of the East." The enduring British influence is still visible in the city's architecture and culinary traditions.

You will spend the night in Shillong.

Day 2 - Shillong - Cherrapunji - Shillong (Approximately 60 kms, 2 hours each way)

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, embark on a journey to Cherrapunjee, known as one of the wettest places on Earth and the sole location in India to receive rainfall throughout the year. Nestled in the East Khasi Hills, about 50 km southwest of Shillong, Cherrapunjee, also referred to as Sohra or Churra, translates to 'the land of oranges.' The cliffs of Cherrapunjee offer breathtaking views of the plains of Bangladesh.

Our day in Cherrapunjee includes visits to Arwah Cave, Nahkhalikai Falls, Mwasmai Cave, Seven Sister Falls, Dainthlen Waterfalls, Eco Park, and Wei Sawdong Waterfalls. Upon our return journey to Shillong, we will make a stop at Elephant Falls, where a mountain stream cascades down two successive falls, nestled in the serene fern-covered rock dells.

Overnight, we'll be back in Shillong.

Day 3 - Shillong - Kaziranga (Approximately 320 kms, 7 hours)

After a satisfying breakfast, we depart from Shillong and head towards the renowned Kaziranga National Park.

Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is celebrated for being home to the Great Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros. The landscape of Kaziranga is characterized by dense forests, towering elephant grass, rugged reeds, marshes, and shallow pools. It is also home to a substantial population of tigers, as well as breeding herds of elephants, wild water buffalo, and swamp deer.

You'll spend the night at a hotel in Kaziranga.

Day 4 - Kaziranga exploration

Commence your day with an early morning elephant ride within the park, followed by a hearty breakfast at the hotel. Subsequently, delve into the wonders of the Kaziranga Orchid & Biodiversity Park and partake in an exciting Jeep Safari within the Central range of the park.

Spend the night at your hotel in Kaziranga.

Day 5 - Kaziranga - Guwahati (Approximately 230 kms, 4 hours)

Relish a hearty breakfast at your hotel and then set out for Guwahati from Kaziranga. Guwahati, known as the gateway to the northeast, is the largest and most cosmopolitan city in the region. While it may seem somewhat unremarkable on the surface, with its modern glass and concrete structures, you'll discover pockets of cultural richness in its back alleys and historic quarters. As you wander through the city, you'll encounter traditional one-story houses, old colonial-era mansions, and a landscape dotted with ponds and palm trees.

Enjoy an overnight stay at your lodgings in Guwahati.

Day 6 - Guwahati exploration

After relishing a delicious breakfast, set off on a tour of Guwahati's cultural and religious highlights. Visit the revered Kamakhya temple, dedicated to the goddess Kamakhya, an incarnation of Sati. The temple is perched on Nilachal hill and holds a significant place in Hindu mythology.

You'll also have opportunity to explore the Navagraha Temple, Umananda Temple, Balaji Temple, and the state Zoo.

Relax and rewind during your stay in Guwahati.

Day 7 - Departure from Guwahati

Following breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport or railway station in time for your onward homebound journey.
