Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Jaipur

Upon your arrival in Jaipur, you will be transferred to your hotel. Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, is famously known as the "Pink City" due to its stunning pink sandstone architecture in the old walled city. The city's foundation and planning can be credited to the great warrior-astronomer Maharaja Jai Singh II (1699-1744 AD). He founded Jaipur, also known as the "City of Victory," in 1727. Jaipur is unique as it symbolizes the nine divisions of the Universe through nine rectangular sectors. The city's architecture, influenced by Mughal and Jain styles, was formalized according to the Shilpa Shastra, the epic Hindu treatise on architecture. In 1853, Jaipur was painted pink to honor a visit by Prince Albert. Except for the bustling traffic of bicycles, cars, and buses, Jaipur seems to have changed very little over the years. Call it a day and unwind yourself at the hotel.

Day 2 - Explore Jaipur

After breakfast, embark on a full-day city tour of Jaipur. Start by visiting the Amer Fort, situated 11 kilometers from Jaipur. This fort, built with white marble and red sandstone, is a captivating sight, especially with Maota Lake in the foreground. You can choose to ascend to the fortress on an elephant ride (subject to availability) or by jeep. Once at the top, explore the sprawling complex with its courtyards and halls, guided by an informative expert who will regale you with historical tales.

Later, explore the City of Jaipur, which boasts highlights such as the City Palace, an impressive complex of palaces, gardens, and courtyards with a museum showcasing rare manuscripts, armor, costumes, carpets, and miniature paintings. Visit the nearby Jantar Mantar, an Astronomical Observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh in 1726, known for its accurate predictions even today. Jaipur is a shopper's paradise, with a wide range of items to buy, from jewelry to textiles, handicrafts, and antiques. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 - Jaipur to Ranthambore by Road (200 km / 4 hrs)

Relish a delicious breakfast at the hotel followed by a pleasant drive to Ranthambore. Upon arrival, check-in at your hotel. Ranthambore is one of the country's finest tiger reserves, where visitors spending a couple of nights have a good chance of spotting the majestic Royal Bengal Tigers. Once the private tiger reserve of the Maharaja of Jaipur, the sanctuary came under the Project Tiger scheme in 1972. Covering 410 sq. km, it stretches from the easternmost spur of the Aravalli to the Vindhya Range.

The sanctuary, also known as Sawai Madhopur after the town, is home to Jain temples with gilded paintings and a variety of wildlife, including Chital and Sambar deer, wild boar, Nilgai antelope, Chinkara gazelles, sloth bears, leopards, and crocodiles. Bird enthusiasts will also be delighted by the extensive birdlife, including various species of birds. Enjoy an optional afternoon game drive in Ranthambore National Park (not included in the quote). Note that Ranthambore Park is closed from July 1st to September 30th. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 - Ranthambore to Agra by Road (300 km / 8 hrs)

Early in the morning, start off with a game drive in Ranthambore (not included in the quote). After the game drive, return to the hotel for breakfast and then continue your journey to Agra. En route, visit Fatehpur Sikri, a deserted red sandstone city built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar as his capital and palace in the late 16th century. It was abandoned due to a lack of water and remains remarkably well-preserved.

Upon reaching Agra, check-in at your hotel. Agra, once the capital of the Afghan King Sikandar Lodhi and later transformed by Emperor Babar, is known for its rich Mughal heritage. Explore the city's wonderful monuments, with the Taj Mahal standing as the masterpiece of Mughal architecture. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 5 - Agra to Delhi by Road (220 km / 5 hrs)

Upon having a hearty breakfast, set off for a half-day city tour of Agra. Get to see the iconic Taj Mahal, a fascinating monument built by Emperor Shah Jahan as a declaration of love for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Marvel at the exquisite marble inlay work that adorns this architectural wonder. Next, explore the Agra Fort, a prime example of Mughal architecture and a vital seat of Mughal rule.

Agra also offers a rich heritage of handicrafts, making it an ideal place to shop for jewelry, textiles, and other souvenirs. Later, drive to Delhi, the capital of India, where the old and the new coexist harmoniously. On arrival, check-in at your hotel and unwind for the night.

Day 6 - Departure from Delhi (By Air/Train)

After having a scrumptious morning meal at your hotel, get ready for an exhilarating tour of both Old and New Delhi. Visit the Jama Masjid, one of India's largest and best known mosques, commissioned by Emperor Shah Jahan; followed by a visit to Raj Ghat, the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi and drive past the Red Fort. Wander through the bustling streets of Chandni Chowk to get the true taste of old Delhi's charm.

In the afternoon, explore New Delhi, marked by its British legacy. Visit the Qutab Minar, Humayun's Tomb, India Gate, Parliament building, and the Rashtrapati Bhawan (President's residence). Later, you will be transferred to Delhi Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey to your next destination.

Your tour concludes here. Thank you for choosing us to be a part of your incredible journey through India.
