Itinerary

Day 1 - Jaipur Landing

Upon arrival in Jaipur, you will be escorted to your hotel, and rejuvenate there. Spend the night at the hotel only to get ready for the rest of the tour of this Pink City. Jaipur is popularly known as the Pink City as it is entirely made up of Pink Sandstone. It also got drenched in color pink in the year 1853 to honor Prince Albert's visit.

Day 2 - Explore Jaipur

Start your morning with breakfast at the hotel and then set off to explore the dynamic Jaipur City. The sightseeing starts with the magnificent Amer Fort, situated just 11 kilometers from the city center. This fort, once the stronghold of the Kachhwaha clan of Amber, served as the capital before Jaipur. With its enchanting blend of white marble and red sandstone, the fort's beauty is further accentuated by the serene Maota Lake in the foreground. As you gaze upon the fort and its mirrored reflection on the lake's surface, it's hard to make out whether it's a dream or a captivating illusion.

For your convenience and enjoyment, you have the option to ascend to the fortress atop an elephant (subject to availability and direct payment) or by a jeep. Once at the summit, take a stroll through the expansive courtyards and halls. An informative and eloquent guide will accompany you, sharing captivating tales from the past.

Next on our itinerary is the enchanting City of Jaipur. Highlights of our city tour include the awe-inspiring City Palace, a sprawling complex featuring palaces, gardens, courtyards, and exquisite decorative art. Inside the palace museum, you'll find rare manuscripts, armor, costumes, carpets, and miniature paintings. Adjacent to the palace is the Jantar Mantar, an astronomical observatory constructed by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh in 1726. This marvel of astronomy continues to make precise predictions to this day.

Jaipur is renowned as a shopper's paradise, and you'll have the opportunity to explore its bustling markets. The old city is home to a wide array of treasures, from jewelry adorned with precious and semi-precious stones to handcrafted silver, textiles, handicrafts, and antiques. For avid shoppers, Jaipur is the ultimate destination to procure souvenirs and mementos.

Your overnight stay will be at the hotel, ensuring you're well-rested for more adventures in the Pink City.

Day 3 - Ranthambore Road Trip | 4 hours

Following a hearty breakfast, we'll embark on a scenic road journey to Ranthambore. Upon arrival in Ranthambore, you will be transferred to your hotel. This renowned park stands as one of the country's premier tiger reserves, offering a high chance of encountering the majestic Royal Bengal Tigers for those who spend a couple of nights here.

Originally the private tiger reserve of the Maharaja of Jaipur, this sanctuary was incorporated into the Project Tiger initiative in 1972. Spanning across 410 square kilometers, it stretches from the easternmost spur of the Aravalli to the Vindhya Range. Ranthambore boasts not only the ancient fort but also a wildlife sanctuary, known as Sawai Madhopur, named after the town which houses ornate Jain temples with gilded paintings.

In addition to the awe-inspiring tigers, you may also encounter herds of Chital and Sambar deer, groups of wild boar, Nilgai antelope, and Chinkara gazelles. Keep an eye out for sloth bears, a few elusive leopards, and the occasional crocodile. The birdlife is extensive, featuring species like spur fowl, jungle fowl, partridges, quails, crested serpent eagles, woodpeckers, flycatchers, and more. Lakes and waterholes within the park are often adorned with water birds such as storks, ducks, and geese.

In the afternoon, you have the option to embark on a Game Drive (please note that this is not included in the quote) within Ranthambore National Park, where you can witness the incredible wildlife that calls this sanctuary home.

Your overnight stay will be at the hotel in Ranthambore, preparing you for the exciting wildlife adventures to come the following day.

Day 4 - Ranthambore to Udaipur by Road

On the following morning, embark on an early Game Drive (please note that this is not included in the quote) into the Park, accompanied by your naturalist guide who will provide insightful information about the Park's wildlife. Ranthambhore National Park is globally renowned as one of the best places to witness wild tigers, and it stands as the sole dry deciduous tiger habitat in the world. During the game drive, your naturalist will assist you in exploring the park in pursuit of the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger.

After the exhilarating Game Drive, return to the hotel for a hearty breakfast. Later in the day, we will commence our journey to Udaipur, with a stopover to visit Chittorgarh. Chittorgarh believed to have been originally constructed by Bhim, one of the Pandavas, now lies deserted, yet remarkable remnants of its former grandeur endure. Be sure to explore Rana Kumbha's palace and Fateh Prakash palace.

While in Chittorgarh, visit the impressive 37-meter-high Jaya Stambh (Tower of Victory), erected by Rana Kumbha in 1440 to commemorate his triumph over the Khiljis of Malwa. Don't miss the 22-meter-high Keerti Stambh, also known as the Tower of Fame, dedicated to Adinath and adorned with depictions of various Jain tirthankars.

Following our Chittorgarh excursion, we will continue our journey to Udaipur, where you will arrive and be transferred to your hotel. Udaipur, nestled on the shores of Lake Pichola and encircled by hills, offers a striking contrast to the arid deserts that characterize the rest of Rajasthan. As the capital of the old Mewar State, Udaipur stood as the lone Rajput bastion to uphold its Hindu allegiance amid Muslim invasions. Founded in 1559 by Maharana Udai Singh, this city captivates with its marble palaces and scenic lakes, notably Lake Pichola, graced by romantic island palaces. The city's charm extends to picturesque havelis, ghats, and temples along the lakefront, while the bustling bazaars of the historic walled city stretch beyond.

Your overnight stay will be at the hotel in Udaipur, allowing you to immerse yourself in the enchanting beauty of this city.

Day 5 - Udaipur Scenic and Cultural Charms

Get your morning meal at the hotel and then get on with a half-day Udaipur City tour. The journey begins with a visit to the illustrious City Palace and Museum, a grand palace complex that stands as the largest in all of India. This architectural marvel seamlessly blends Mughal and Rajput design influences. Our cultural sojourn continues as we pay our respects at the 17th-century Jagdish Temple and take in the panoramic views during a scenic drive around the picturesque Fatehsagar Lake. Our next stop is the Sahelion ki Bari, an enchanting ornamental pleasure garden adorned with fountains and marble kiosks. To immerse ourselves further in the cultural tapestry of Udaipur, we'll visit the Bharatiya Lok Kala Mandir, also known as the Folk eum, a treasure trove of traditional art and culture.

As the evening descends upon this enchanting city, you have the option to partake in a memorable boat ride (available on direct payment) on the vast expanse of Lake Pichola. Spanning an impressive 4 kilometers in length and 3 kilometers in width, this breathtaking lake is framed by hills, palaces, havelis, ghats, embankments, and temples, providing a captivating backdrop for your voyage. Our boat excursion also includes a visit to the Jag Mandir Island, where you can explore the exquisite Gul Mahal Pavilion.

Rest assured, your overnight stay at the hotel will provide the perfect respite after a day filled with cultural and scenic wonders.

Day 6 - Udaipur to Jodhpur by Road

Eat a hearty breakfast at the hotel and get ready for a scenic drive to Jodhpur en route Ranakpur- The largest Jain temple complex. Explore the Jain temple's main sanctuary, dedicated to Adinath, the first Tirthankar. The walls, pillars, and domes come alive with intricate carvings depicting mythological figures, patterns, and motifs. Remarkably, there are 1444 individually crafted marble pillars within the complex, each one a unique masterpiece. The lace-like interiors of the domes are a splendid example of the Western Indian temple style. Additionally, you'll find the Surya Temple and other Jain temples nearby, making for captivating side attractions. (Please note that the temples open only at noon, and visitors are advised not to wear leather belts, footwear, bare legs, or black clothing.)

Subsequently, our journey continues as we head to Jodhpur, often referred to as the Blue City. Upon arrival in this desert oasis, you'll be transferred to your hotel. Jodhpur, the second-largest city in Rajasthan, is a vibrant and historically rich destination. The city's captivating blue hues set against the arid Thar Desert offer a visually stunning panorama. Jodhpur boasts a wealth of forts, palaces, temples, and Havelis, all steeped in culture and tradition. It's a place where spices and fabrics, colors and textures, come together harmoniously. Situated in Western Rajasthan, Jodhpur has long been a magnet for both domestic and international tourists. Beyond the tangible attractions, the city exudes a sense of history and regal splendor from a bygone era. The warmth of the locals, the graceful women, and the vibrant turbans all blend harmoniously with the enchanting desert backdrop of Marwar. Every nook and cranny of Jodhpur whispers tales of heroic deeds, romantic sagas, and a time when epics unfolded on the bustling streets, shaping the lives of ordinary people.

During your stay in Jodhpur, don't miss the chance to explore Sardar Bazaar and Clock Tower markets, where you can immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of vegetable stalls, spice vendors, Indian sweet shops, and bustling textile and silver markets. These vibrant markets, nestled in the labyrinthine lanes, offer a treasure trove of woodcarvings, wrought iron, lacquer work, silverware, ivory adornments, and leather handicrafts. The afternoon is yours to freely wander these colorful and bustling bazaars, either for personal exploration or shopping.

Call it a day and retire for the night in comfort and relaxation after an eventful day filled with cultural discoveries and vibrant market experiences.

Day 7 - Journey to Jaisalmer

Embark on a half-day exploration of Jodhpur after a satisfying breakfast. Our first stop is the impressive Meherangarh Fort, perched on a low sandstone hill. Within the fort, you'll discover splendid palace apartments like Sukh Mahal, Phool Mahal, and Sheesh Mahal, each adorned with exquisite decorations. These palatial spaces house a treasure trove of history, including jewelry, costumes, armor, palanquins, howdahs, and other remnants of a glorious past. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the Jaswant Thada, a striking marble memorial erected in 1899 in honor of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Subsequently, the royal crematorium and three additional cenotaphs were constructed at this site.

Our journey then takes us to the enchanting city of Jaisalmer, often described as the "golden city." Founded approximately 800 years ago by Rawal Jaisal, this desert fortress boasts a unique charm that sets it apart from any other city. Its strategic location on camel trade routes made Jaisalmer an essential ancient trading center.

Upon arrival in Jaisalmer, you will be transferred to your hotel. The city's Havelis, constructed by 19th-century merchants, are exquisite examples of golden-yellow sandstone architecture and remain beautifully preserved. The magnificent fort, built by Rawal Jaisal in the 12th century, proudly stands atop the 80-meter-high Trikuta Hill and houses intricately carved Jain temples. Jaisalmer is renowned for its annual desert festival held in January and February, a vibrant celebration of color and cultural activity. Additionally, the city is famous for its embroidery, Rajasthani mirror work, rugs, blankets, antique items, silver jewelry, and stonework.

Get a good night's rest at the hotel for comfort and tranquility, ensuring you're energized and ready for more adventures in this enchanting desert city.

Day 8 - Jaisalmer Exploration

Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel and then set off to visit the renowned Havelis, these magnificent mansions celebrated for their exquisite frescoes. Jaisalmer's strategic location along the camel terrain route brought immense wealth to the city, leading prosperous merchants to commission these grand havelis. Crafted from the local golden-yellow sandstone and wood, some of these havelis have stood the test of time, bearing witness to the city's opulent past. Among these architectural marvels, the most elaborate and magnificent is Patwaon Ki Haveli, a creation by five Jain brothers between 1800 and 1860.

Salim Singh Ki Haveli and Nathmal Ki Haveli are two other splendid havelis that welcome visitors. The fort in Jaisalmer, perched atop the 80-meter-high Trikuta Hill, was constructed in 1156 under the rule of Jaisal, a Bhatti ruler. The fort is encircled by three walls and boasts an impressive 99 bastions. Over the centuries, this golden sandstone fortress bore witness to numerous battles between the Bhatti Rajputs, the Mughals, and the Rathores of Jodhpur. Within the fort's complex, you'll discover beautifully carved Jain Temples dating back to the 12th to 15th centuries. Despite being devout Hindus, the Maharawals (rulers) of Jaisalmer were tolerant of Jainism and actively encouraged art and religion. The complex houses seven temples: Chandraprabhu, Parasnath, Shitalnath, Sambhavnath, Shantinath, Kunthunath, and Rikhabdev Temple. These temples are interconnected by a network of corridors and walkways. Nearby, you'll find the Gyan Bhandar, a library established in 1500 A.D., which houses priceless ancient manuscripts and exhibits, including astrological charts and the Jain equivalent of the Christian Shroud of Turin.

In the evening, set off on a journey to the mesmerizing Sam Sand Dunes, located approximately 42 kilometers from Jaisalmer. These dunes offer the closest and most immersive encounter with the expansive sandy desert. Here, you'll have the opportunity to witness captivating patterns and motifs sculpted by the ever-shifting sands and the wind. Additionally, the Sam Sand Dunes provide an unforgettable experience with camel rides (available on direct payment) and the awe-inspiring spectacle of the setting sun.

You can look forward to a restful overnight stay at the hotel, recharging for another day filled with cultural discoveries and desert adventures.

Day 9 - Jaisalmer to Jodhpur followed by Homebound Journey

On Day 9, post-breakfast, commence your journey from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur. Upon reaching Jodhpur, you will be transferred to either Jodhpur Airport or Railway Station to catch your flight or train for your onward destination.
